Update on construction in your area
Indian Grove. Project 13-1347 H1
The Region of Peel is replacing aging watermain on Indian Grove as part of our maintenance program. The current watermain was installed in the 1950s and is at the end of its lifespan.
A larger watermain that provides water to the Lorne Park area will also be installed along with the smaller (local) watermain on Indian Grove. The local watermain is on one side of the street with the larger watermain to follow on the opposite side of the street.
Completed work
The Contractor has:
- Installed new curb on the west side of Indian Grove from the north end of Indian Grove to Indian Road.
- Installed new sidewalk on the west side of Indian Grove from the north end of Indian Grove to approximately 1340 Indian Grove.
Coming up in the next few weeks
The Contractor will:
- Complete installation of new sidewalk on the west side of Indian Grove by early next week.
- Start installing subdrain and new curb on the east side of Indian Grove mid-next week, starting at the north end and working towards Indian Road.
- Residents may be asked to park on the road while the concrete curb and sidewalk are curing.
- During curb and sidewalk restoration, you will not have vehicle access to your driveway for 2-3 days while the concrete is being poured and is curing. Please park your vehicle on the opposite side of the street from the work during this time. The Contractor will coordinate with affected residents 24-48 hours before the work.
- Please contact us if you have special needs related to access.
- Paving, driveway, sprinkler, and sod restoration will follow once all curb and sidewalk has been installed.
Reducing the impact of construction
- For everyone’s safety, please take care and slow down when driving through the active construction area. It is safer if residents access their property from the south end of Indian Grove if their property is south of the active construction area, and from the north end if their property is north of construction.
- If we must shut off your water because of an emergency, we will do everything we can to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
- We will let you know if there are any significant project changes.
