Watermain system improvements
Indian Grove from South Sheridan Way to 1395 Indian Grove. Project 13-1347 H1
Update on construction in your area
The Region of Peel is replacing aging watermain on Indian Grove as part of our maintenance program. The current watermain was installed in the 1950s and is at the end of its lifespan. A larger watermain that provides water to the Lorne Park area will also be installed along with the smaller (local) watermain on Indian Grove. The local watermain is on one side of the street with the larger watermain to follow on the opposite side of the street.
Project update
The Contractor has begun installing subdrain (underground drain), new curbs, and new sidewalks on Indian Grove near the north end of the street.
Coming up in the next few weeks
- The Contractor will continue installation of the subdrain and curb on the west side of Indian Grove, working towards Indian Road.
- This work will be followed by sidewalk restoration on the west side of Indian Grove before the Contractor moves to the east side of the road to install subdrain and curb. Sidewalk restoration may start as early as mid-next week.
- During curb and sidewalk restoration, you will not have vehicle access to your driveway for 2-3 days while the concrete is being poured and is curing. Please park your vehicle on the opposite side of the street from the work during this time. The Contractor will coordinate with affected residents 24 hours before the work.
- Please contact us if you have special needs related to access.
- Residents on the west side of Indian Grove will be impacted twice, once for curb installation and once for sidewalk restoration. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Driveway, sprinkler, and sod restoration will follow once all curb and sidewalk has been installed.
Reducing the impact of construction
- For everyones safety, please take care and slow down when driving through the active construction area. It is safer if residents access their property from the south end of Indian Grove if their property is south of the active construction area, and from the north end if their property is north of construction.
- If we must shut off your water because of an emergency, we will do everything we can to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
- We will let you know if there are any significant project changes.
