Watermain replacement and improvements
Murray Street. Projects 20-1340 D
The Region of Peel has been working in your area to replace the watermain and water services along Murray Street. This work is required to maintain and improve the quality of your water supply.
At this stage in the project the new watermain has been successfully installed, leaving only the water services component to be completed. Water services transfer water from the new watermain to each individual property.
Water service construction is expected to begin the week of January 8, 2024. A temporary road closure (similar to what was in place earlier this year) will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
- Murray Street will be closed at Williams Parkway to all incoming/outgoing traffic. This temporary road closure is expected to occur from the week of January 8, 2024 and last approximately 3 weeks.
- Through traffic on Williams Parkway will not be impacted by the road closure.
- A detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Residents north of Williams Parkway should use Gillingham Drive for ingress/egress while residents south of Williams Parkway should use Archibald Street.
- Residents who live on Murray Street will have access to their homes.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.

Safety during construction

When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
