Watermain construction and sanitary sewer rehabilitation
Road Closure Notice - Coleraine Drive from Mayfield Road to Countryside Drive. Project 20-1177
The Region of Peel will be working in your neighborhood to install new watermains and rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system along Coleraine Drive. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water and wastewater services.
To complete this work, Coleraine Drive will be closed to all through traffic during construction. Residents and businesses located within the closures will still have access to their properties.
Traffic impacts
This work will be completed in two phases:
- Phase 1: Coleraine Drive will be closed to all through traffic from Mayfield Road to Countryside Drive. This temporary road closure is expected to occur from February 21, 2023 until September 2023. During this time, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route for Phase 1. Completing this work will require fully closing the southbound lane of Coleraine Drive, therefore residents and business owners within the closed portion of Coleraine Drive willONLY be able to access their properties from the south, no through traffic will be allowed. The northbound lane will be directed by a flag person during construction hours.
- Phase 2: Coleraine Drive will be closed to all through traffic from Countryside Drive to Regional Road 50 (Hwy 50). This temporary road closure is expected to occur from June 2023 until September 2023. We will let you know the exact start date two weeks before this road closure begins.
Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
