Watermain and sanitary sewer replacement and improvement

Goreway Drive / Humberwest Parkway from Auction Lane to Queen Street East. Project 18-1169

Peel Region has been working in your neighbourhood to install watermains and sanitary sewers along Queen Street East. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water and wastewater services.

At this stage in the project, a temporary 3-day lane reduction will be required to continue this work.

Traffic impacts

  • Northbound Goreway Drive will be reduced to two lanes from just north of Auction Lane to just south of Queen Street East.

Northbound Goreway Drive / Humberwest Parkway will then be reduced to one lane from just south of Queen Street East to just north of Queen Street East.

These temporary lane reductions are expected to begin the morning of Friday, November 3 and end no later than the morning of Monday, November 6, 2023. Southbound traffic on Goreway Drive and Humberwest Parkway will remain unaffected.

  • The multi-use path / sidewalk along the north side of Queen Street East will be fully closed near the Humberwest Parkway and Queen Street East intersection. A pedestrian detour route will be clearly marked with signs.
  • The Brampton Transit bus stops in this area will remain unaffected, including:
    • Goreway Drive Routes 5 and 29A: Stop ID 2485.
    • Humberwest Parkway Routes 5 and 29A: Stop ID 2486.
  • Digital road signs will remain in place for the duration of this work and will be updated accordingly.

Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible.

We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.
