Watermain replacement and improvement
Williams Parkway between Mississauga Road and Dixie Road. Project 14-1256
Peel Region is investigating future improvement of the watermain system in your area. We are planning to build a new watermain along Williams Parkway from Mississauga Road to Dixie Road. Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment plants to your area. As our population grows, we need to build larger watermains to keep providing high quality water.
To plan for future construction, we will be conducting investigations within the area shown in the map below. The approximate limits of the project study area extend from Mississauga Road to Dixie Road, and from Queen Street East to Bovaird Drive West.
We will survey this area to better understand underground conditions that may affect the construction work. The City of Brampton, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing this work to be done by our contractor overnight to reduce traffic impacts. This work will make minimal noise. It will be moving constantly and will not likely be repeated at the same location.
Traffic impacts and timing
This work will require lane closures on Williams Parkway between Mississauga Road and Dixie Road. This work may also require restricting the option to turn right or left at intersections along this stretch of Williams Parkway. A vehicle towing equipment will be driven slowly in the closed lane and will make frequent stops to record measurements.
These lane closures will take place on Monday, September 18th to Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. There will be no work on weekends. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.
