The Centre for Community Energy Transformation receives a Canada Clean50 Top Project Award for 2024
BRAMPTON, ON (October 3, 2023) - The Centre for Community Energy Transformation (CCET) is a proud recipient of a Canada's Clean50 Top Project Award for 2024 https://www.clean50.com that recognizes accelerated collaboration towards a job-rich, cleaner, healthier, innovation based low-carbon economy supporting all Canadians.
Project leaders from The Centre for Community Energy Transformation were amongst the 140 past and incoming Clean50 Honourees meeting this past Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Clean50 Summit 13.0" in Toronto, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues tackling "critical sustainability challenges facing Canada" and vying for the title of "Top Sustainability Project of the Year".
About The Centre for Community Energy Transformation (CCET)
CCET is a community-based not-for-profit organization that will accelerate sustainable energy transformation, working collaboratively with partner municipalities in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga, and Peel Region.
Born as a Brampton-based idea and with support from Sheridan College, Peel Region, the City of Mississauga, and the Town of Caledon, CCET has evolved into a region-wide organization that is able to scale quickly, reduce duplication across municipalities and collectively mobilize resources. As part of its support, Peel Region has contributed seed funding towards CCET to implement its mandate and help reach respective municipal community energy goals with an aim to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
CCET will also provide a centre for leadership, learning, and collective experience and act as a support system for residents and businesses - bringing in direct investment and creating jobs.
About Canada's Clean50 Top Project Award
Canada's Clean50 Top Project Awards are amongst the awards announced annually by Delta Management Group and the Canada's Clean50 organization, to recognize the best sustainability oriented projects completed in Canada over the prior two years. Projects are chosen based on a five "I"s criteria: Impactful, Innovative, Inspiring, Informative and readily Imitated. The Top Project of the year is then selected each year at the Clean50 Summit, from votes cast by both incoming and Alumni members of the Clean50.
