Peel’s fall garbage exemption period

BRAMPTON, ON (August 26, 2019) – The Region of Peel reminds all residents about the remaining garbage exemption periods for 2019 and early 2020:

OLD DATES NEW DATES
September 2019
(two weeks following Labour Day holiday)
September 16-27, 2019
December 2019
(Christmas/New Year)
January 27-31, 2020
February 3-7, 2020

For this coming fall, check your collection calendar at peelregion.ca/waste to find your garbage exemption day.

During the exemption period, remember to put your extra garbage out only on your garbage collection day, not on your recycling collection day.

There is no maximum amount of acceptable garbage (check our website for a full list of items) that you can put on the curb. Garbage bag tags are not required during exemption periods.

Each excess garbage bag cannot:

Put your excess garbage close to but not on top of your garbage bins, leaving at least 1 m (3 ft.) of clear space between your extra garbage item(s) and your bins.
